Last day in Turks

Tonight is the last night in Providencialles before we head back to the snow and cold of Toronto. I am both sad to leave - I could easily spend the rest of the winter here - and looking forward to getting back to a routine. It's always the first thing that gets thrown out the window, and the first thing that I want back in my life, routine. Surprisingly, I miss the #7 bus, I miss Starbucks, and I miss my own bed.

I'm also looking forward to getting back to the city and starting my new job with Rogers. Pumped actually. It's been some time since I've taken on a new challenge and I'm looking forward to learning a business from the inside out, rather than the interpretation of a client. I'm also pumped about working with a new team and hearing what they have to say about social media and thought leadership programs. I could go on, a change is on the horizon - well, 36 hours away actually - and I am ready.

This vacation has served its purpose - to shed the skin of that last few years. Not that they have been at all bad, mind you. The contrary in fact. But it's like rearranging your furniture or moving, it's always refreshing to get a new perspective even if it's with the same furniture. That's what this vacation has done. Reset the clock, let go of a lot of stress, and put a few things back in line. Yes, I'm ready for my own sheets and routine, it only took six days living inside my head to do it.
