I put a card in the mail for Mother's Day last week; hoping it would arrive in time. When I called on Sunday, the card had yet to arrive which I thought was odd....I'd been so proud of myself for getting the card long in advance and actually coordinating a stamp and putting it in the post (you'd be amazed at how many times I find a lonely letter that never made it to the red box).
Well, today my Mum informed me that the card had indeed arrived but only thanks to a savvy person in the local Post Office. It turns out, I hadn't addressed the envelope to my Mum, but instead just put the address. In a city that might not be such a big deal, but when your address reads Rural Route #2, Mount Forest that could mean about half the population! Thank goodness I'd bothered to put my last name in the top left corner and the postal worker put two and two together....a darned sight smarter than me! Thank you Mount Forest Post Office!!
